Teenage Mental Health Research
Due to basing my individual and group plot synopsis on the sensitive topic of mental health, I have decided to research information about teenage mental health in the UK. This will help me as an individual to not offend or worry individuals during our trailer.

Individual Plot Synopsis
Psychological thrillers
can be influenced by various mental illnesses such as split
personalities, schizophrenia and depression.
The target audience of the film would
be young adults ranging between 16-25 years old. The film would also be mainly
targeted towards a female audience due to the lack of physical violence
between characters.
Plot:
Set in the present day in a small town,
a youthful group of four teenage girls between the ages of 14-16 years old,
live their ordinary lives. Mainly focusing on school life and friendships, a
quiet and shy teen named Anna from the close group is revealed as an outsider
due to verbal bullying from the group’s leader Molly which is also followed by
other members of the friendship circle. Viscous comments focusing on weight,
status and intelligence leads the young girl to distance herself from others
and punish herself through self-harm. This goes unseen by her divorced
parents due to their ongoing conflict which makes the character feel forgotten
and unloved.
Her silent suffering is unseen by the
close community she lives in and the bullying carries on. Molly, who is
physically more mature than her class mates as well as plastered in heavy
make-up, carries on bullying the vulnerable character and begins to physically
hurt her ‘friend.’
After the build-up of anger inside the
victim, she is unable to take the suffering of her parents as well as the group
of girls in her school and begins to plan her pay back. Through revenge fuelled
by her hurt, the young girl attempts to take each bully down one by one.
Influenced by voices in her head, the teenager is playing mind tricks on the
main bully. By posting letters and using fake social media profiles. The victim
attempts to weaken the bully and ruin her happiness. The victim’s paranoia and
depression is unnoticed and uncontrolled which leads the teen to danger to
herself and others.
Fuelled by the voices in her head, Anna
is unsafe and feels worthless which leads to attempting suicide through an
overdose of her Mum’s prescription drugs. The youthful girl is unaware of her
desperate silent cry for help and keeps hurting herself physically and mentally
due to feeling alone and to blame for illness.
Her school attempt to give her help due
to having a large concern about her unproductive and slow learning as well as
her attempt of suicide, she is given counselling to help her mental health. Building
a strong bond with her councillor. She finally begins to see the light at the
end of tunnel and feels like someone cares about her due to the lack of
attention she receives from her parents. She apologises to the bullies in which
she played revenge on and with the help of her councillor fights each demon one
by one and mentally becomes happier and healthier.
